The MARM disseminates the new logo of ecological agriculture for the identification of this type of food

The Ministry of environment and Rural and Marine Affairs, through a section on the website www.alimentacion.es,
is giving to know the new logo of ecological agriculture, made up of 12 white stars of the European Union that form the silhouette of a leaf on a green background, and that is reserved to identify the food from this type of agriculture.
As explained on this page, organic farming is a system of agricultural and livestock production that dispensed with the use of pesticides, fertilizers and additives, with the aim of obtaining natural foods and all their nutritional properties, and minimize the negative effects on the environment at the same time.
In addition to the environmental benefits, the web page explains how these products covering a wide range (from fresh fruit and vegetables, honey, meats, preserves, cheese, sausages, oil and wine), pointing out as, in addition to official controls that they are on foodthey are the subject of an additional certification that guarantees the authenticity of organic origin.
Also, the website includes two links, one to the page on the ecological agriculture of the European Commission and another link to the page of the MARM. The first one provides information on the origin and meaning of the logo, which symbolises the Union between Europe and the nature, and that you can download in different formats.
As regards the other link, the page of the MARM offers information on regulations, control and certification of organic products, data on the development and evolution of the ecological agriculture in Spain, and a number of interesting links.
