Plantarium 2003 spreads its wings

From Wednesday 20 August until Saturday 23 August 2003, the international tree nursery trade show will open its doors to some 15,000 visitors. The trade organisation intends to dedicate this 21st edition to topical issues concerning the tree nursery industry, from growers to garden centre proprietors.

Plantarium is one of the few trade shows without a profit motive. The sole objective of the tree nursery trade show is to promote sales. From 2003 onwards Stichting Vakbeurs voor de Boomkwekerij wishes to focus on branch-specific peripheral aspects, such as employment, consumer behaviour and the environment. One condition is that exhibitors and visitors in particular see this as value added to the trade show. The management is expected to disclose the theme for 2003 by the end of this year.

Distinctive

Plantarium distinguishes itself from other trade shows by featuring different, special themes every year, which are sure to promote annual visitor numbers and participation by exhibitors. The survey among the 2002 exhibitors showed that 85% of the exhibitors would definitely return in 2003. 97% of the visitors reported that their visit fully or partially met their expectations. The new approach, in which every year a different issue that concerns the entire industry will be taken as a theme will make the international tree nursery trade show one of a kind.
