The City council of Santa Cruz of Tenerife signs an agreement with the Canarian Foundation Recycles

In the act, chaired by the mayor of Santa Cruz of Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, gave to know the details of the put in operation of this service, realised by Urbaser, company dealer of the collected of rubbish, and managed by the Canarian Foundation Recycles that, with this agreement, achieves the collaboration of one of the municipalities with greater population of the islands (with more than 200.000 inhabitants).
With the signature of this agreement guarantees that the treatment of this class of waste fulfils with an ecological process and, at the same time, will allow to the municipal arks a saving of 32 euros by each tonne of electronic waste that collect (no longer will be necessary to credit the current taxles that the complex of the Industrial Plan of Solid Waste (PIRS) earns to the Consistory capitalino by this service). The initial forecasts go through to collect some 220.000 annual kilos of waste of electrical and electronic devices.
The set up of this new service, that will activate in the next months, will suppose also a change in the destination of this type of RAEE, since up to now they finished in the plant of transfer number 4 of the PIRS and, from now, will be recycled in the plant of waste treatment that the company And-Waste Canaries has built in the PIRS (Arico) and that sets up this same month.
