Pontevedra chooses accessible containers of Contenur to manage his waste
26 April 2011
The city of Pontevedra Cogami (Galician Confederation of people with disabilities) and Cespa, company responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the city, have launched an ambitious project to provide the city of lateral load of Contenur containers accessible for all, in his collection route. These new containers will start settling in the areas of Mount Perreiro, O Burgo and Mollabao.
Contenur has designed and developed a system for depositing waste, easy to use and identify, and that facilitates the access of all citizens. Accessible containers favour its use of simple and easy way.
Accessible lateral load of 2,400 litres container chosen by the City Council has its usual pedal lid opening, and also has two extra mouths, one on top of the lid, for those people who can not make use of the pedal, and the other in the body of the container, only one meter of distance from the floor, allowing people in a wheelchair to throw the waste without any problem. This container also has a system of pictograms and language braille for identification of the type of waste which must be deposited in it.
One of the fundamental reasons why the Pontevedra City Council has opted for this accessible container of Contenur is because it is currently the only manufactured following accessible design of product and certification criteria officially by Fundosa accessibilityS.A. Group eleven, through technical evaluation on the basis of requirements of ambulation, apprehension, location and communication (DALCO).
