The Centa Foundation and the Cedex presented jointly a Handbook of purification for small towns

It is first manual released in our country with the specific objective of providing technical solutions to the treatment of waste water in small clusters, to learn about what are the characteristics and needs of these social groups.
In this presentation they went in the same way, the Assistant Director-general of infrastructures and technologies of the MARM, Rosa xuclà, Cedex, Mariano Navas director and the Manager of Senta, immaculate Cuenca.
"Cleansing in small populations is the unfinished business to achieve the goals set out in Europe in the face of the 2015," said Marta Morén. For this reason, thanked the joint efforts of these two institutions in the elaboration of a guide compilation of consolidated experiences and that, therefore, offer solutions adapted to each village. "It is the starting point to achieve the objectives of the water framework directive", he said.
This manual is the result of the work of the Centa Foundation and the Cedex, since the cooperation agreement initialled in 2007 for carrying out several works commissioned by the MARM in the framework of the ' National Plan for water quality: Sanitation and debugging 2007-2015'. He comes to be an effective tool for the Administration is public and private that relate to the planning and implementation of systems of purification in Spain. In this work, we analyze specific conditions that affect the cleansing of the small towns, defining criteria for quick solutions and establishing technical recommendations with regard to preparation of projects for construction, operation and maintenance.
In relation to the content, they are structured in ten chapters which describes the current situation of cleansing in people taking into account its characteristics and the existing rules; define the applicable technology and are combinations of treatment in order to achieve progress in the field of the management and exploitation. Finally there are two chapters devoted to the management of sludge generated in the process of purification and the criteria for the selection of the most appropriate treatment line.
For its part, the Centa Foundation and the Cedex provided, in addition to knowledge, an extensive research experience in the sector.
