Integrated circuits to improve the signal and reduce the energetic consumption of wireless devices
Jesús Aguado Ruiz, engineer of telecommunication by the UPNA, has developed in his thesis doctoral integrated circuits that implement the reception of wireless communications of ultra low consumption in surroundings of short scope. The thesis has carried by title ‘High Performance Integrated Circuits for Baseband Signal Processing in Ultra Low Power Receivers'. As it explains his author, the advance of the technologies of electronic integration does that the circuits have to work with batteries smaller and using tensions of feeding lower. “Therefore, at present the design of circuits of low consumption of power and low tension has turned into an appearance of vital importance”. Using new strategies of analog design, Jesús Aguado has developed different circuits that improve the reception of the communications.
In his work has elaborated different multiplicadores of capacity and amplifiers, that “result especially interesting for the applications of low consumption”. These designs realizar in collaboration with the professor Jaime Ramírez Angulo, of the New Mexico State University, in two stays of investigation realizar in his laboratories. On the other hand, they designed diverse systems amplifiers that allow to work with bandwidth roughly constant, “something that is fundamental to facilitate the design of the rest of blocks of the receptor”.
The thesis includes also, inside a project of collaboration with the company Epson-Seiko, the development of a demodulador and has given like fruit two international patents.
Jesús Aguado is engineer of telecommunication and doctor in technologies of the communications by the UPNA. From 2007 form splits of the group of investigation Communications, signals and microwaves, of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the UPNA, institution where has worked like researcher collaborator of project. It has participated in different national and international congresses and is also author of articles published in magazines of reference.
