Interview with Víctor Pavón, responsible for the subsidiary of Sepro Robotics
January 7, 2008
It is already customary to take for granted that in Europe (and Spain) the automation in the plastics industry is already an obligation. This claim, do there is actually in demand for robots of this industry?
Not completely, despite the conviction by the plastic manufacturers that have robots already is not a luxury but a necessity, still there are great number of automatable processes that have not developed for different reasonsamong which we can list low-volume parts to be manufactured, lack of visibility on the life of the piece, difficulty of integration in its plant, lack of budget, etc.
Does plenty of room in Spain for the sale of robots in the plastics industry?
Of course, as it said previously the big majority of the processes of injection can be automated in elder or in lower measure, this level depends on a lot of factors being the most important the life of the piece or of the project and the volume of pieces to manufacture, although no the only, the automation also can be profitable in processes that require a lot of hand of work or complexities added to the own process, for example the placing in the mould of labels, insertos, etc.en those that the inclusion of a robot does indispensable to be profitable.
There is room to improve the robots? What technical characteristic is your company focusing to make improvements? (speed, accuracy, cost reduction...).
There is always room to improve, in fact I think that it is an obligation that all manufacturers should we impose. It is our duty to suggest improvements to our products that make life easier for the user and allows you to be more competitive.
The latest improvements and technical evolutions of Sepro, presented in Equiplast, were the new Visual 2 command that combines ergonomics, the power of programming and the simplicity of management, another improvement is the economic robot for peque-o presses tonnage 100 tonswhich allows for a very reasonable price, start in the automation of simple processes.
Sepro has developed within the company Division of automation, whose mission is the develop all the peripherals that complement our range of robots, from hands of grip until full processes of IML - IMD.
