Agreement for the development of new technologies of composites reinforced with fibres of carbon
18 May 2012
The companies General Motors and Teijin have signed an agreement for the co-development of technologies advanced of composites reinforced with fibres of carbon for his potential use on a large scale in trucks, trucks and crossovers, as it collects the Foundation Opti in his bulletin.
The agreement consists in the use of the innovative technology of thermoplastic reinforced with fibres of carbon of Teijin, considered of the fastest and efficient for the production of composites reinforced with fibre of carbon.
This technology characterises , according to Teijin, for mass-producing thermoplastic components reinforced with fibre of carbon with time of cycle underneath of the minute, unlike the thermostable resins, which require an a lot greater time for his moldeo.
According to them, this will allow to General Motors enter thermoplastic components reinforced with fibres of carbon in his main vehicles.
