The Andalusian Government subsidizes consumer associations to reduce the use of plastic bags

The Minister of environment in the Andalusian community, José Juan Díaz Trillo, has delivered exceptional subsidies, amounting to 75,000 euros, three associations of consumers and users of Andalusia that carried out a campaign of reduction in the consumption of disposable plastic bags. Díaz Trillo has ensured that this initiative is included in a line of aid which the Ministry allocated up to 150,000 euros within the framework of the recommendations of the integrated National Plan of waste, which provides for the progressive replacement of non-biodegradable plastics from 2010.
Beneficiary associations are the Andalusian Federation of consumers and housewives to Al - Andalus, the Federation of consumers and users in action (Facu-Andalusia) and the consumers Union, Andalusia (Uca/Uce), which receive 25,000 euros each to carry out a formative and informative campaign to help the consumer to know the nature and scope of the new tax that imposes the use of single-use plastic bags. It also pursues analyze its behavior with respect to these elements and increase their willingness to choose more environmentally friendly alternatives with the environment.
For the implementation of this campaign envisages the development of various activities until 31 December of this year. These include initiatives as information on reusable and biodegradable bags in various print publications managed by associations, the publication of specific leaflets, the making of a reusable shopping bag with the slogan of the campaign for its distribution among consumers, workshops or the dissemination of the campaign through various media and online platforms.
