The French Publisher romain pages is one of the beneficiaries by the process of rapid injection Protomold company Proto Labs provides. With the intention of publishing a book of recipes for chocolate, was in touch with this company, who helped him in the design of the mould of a bar of chocolate. In this sense, the use of virtual ProtoQuotoe was fundamental.
Jean-Pierre Duval, editor / general manager, explains that "Romain Pages not had previously worked with plastic, so we really needed a provider of trust". The own Duval has been amazed of the speed with which Protomold provided the first 50 samples. At the fair of FIP, competition of France and China could commit to sending samples in six weeks (and products finished in three months), however Protomold parts had arrived only two weeks after making the request.
Jean-Pierre Duval is reiterated in the idea, stating that "it was great to choose a European supplier with a French touch;" "it made the whole process easier to manage." Most of the editors used Chinese suppliers to bundle similar books with plastic components, but is not always so cheap. Many companies prefer the flexibility and speed, to save having to make major outlays in advance. Therefore, that the format proposed by Proto Labs is safer in times of crisis, because it allows production of low volume with the system Protomold, in addition to the demands of the market to respond quickly.
In the case of Romain Pages, the first batch of 5,000 molds came very shortly after placing the order, by relying on power deal with the unexpected success and quickly requested other 5,000. Three weeks later came the second batch and the editor emrpesa was able to return to Pack books of recipes of chocolate with the corresponding mold. As they say from the Publisher, "it was reassuring to know that we could place an order and have it in just a few days, if necessary."
