The plastics processing sector asks for help to the European Parliament

The industrial delegation was headed by the President of EuPC (European Association of plastics transformers) Bernhard Borgardt. On behalf of the European Parliament, the business delegation was received by Godelieve Quisthoudt-Rowohl, parliamentary by Germany, Member of the Committee on international trade of the European Parliament in turn.
Spanish-sector attended the director-general of Anaip (Spanish Association of plastics industrial), Enrique Gallego. Anaip is an active member of EuPC since the creation of this entity for more than 15 years.
The director of EuPC, Alexandre Dangis, exposed the serious problems affecting the industry of European transformation of plastics, which is having a strong drop in production, affected over these past two years, basically, by the economic downturn. This recession, joins the relocation of manufacturing plants of early plastics, outside Europe, which will bring with it, in the future, a sharp increase in dependence on foreign suppliers of raw material. This new situation, will contribute to a strong increase in imports of finished products from developing countries, products, moreover, are not necessarily subject to the legislation of the EU, health and environmental aspects or to the quality standards required in Europe.
Plastics transformers delivered to Godelieve Quisthoudt-Rowohl several economic reports, so that they can be used by members of the European Parliament on Industrial policy and trade policy committees.
