The plastic sector meets in Copenhagen to discuss the protection of the climate

The national associations of the industry of plastic from all over Europe will meet in Copenhagen next 22 and 23 September to highlight the great potential of plastics in the protection of the climate. They will deal with the important contribution of plastics to the saving of energy and greenhouse gas emissions. In Europe only between 4% and 6% of oil consumed currently used for the manufacture of polymers. 80% Is directly burned in power plants, to transport or heating. And it is the area where plastics can contribute more in the heating of homes and buildings. Taking into account the energy required to heat a House, insulation with plastic materials to save in a year the oil used in the manufacture of own isolation of that House.
Subsequently, in December of this year, the Danish capital will be the host city of the United Nations 'CoP15' climate change conference. Ambitious global agreements which can even lead to a new Committee to replace the Kyoto Protocol are expected of this important meeting.
