Krones NitroPouch receives the German Packaging Award

Krones, a PET of 500 milliliters bottle NitroPouch, again won an award during the official opening of the Brau Beviale 2008 fair in Nuremberg. November 12, 2008, the German Packaging Institute awarded this idea with the German packaging prize. The innovative NitroPouch process already received Water Innovation Award Gold Award in the category "Best packaging innovation' and the WorldStar from the World Packaging Organisation award. Just 6.6 grams PET, this development represents a milestone in the development of the lightweight packaging for beverages. The NitroPouch concept is a primary container that meets a minimum employment of material and energy and a maximum benefit for the consumer and the environment.
Just 6.6 grams of PET are sufficient to ' Pack ' 500 millilitres of still water. Technical innovation on the one hand is the branch of the bottle in different functional areas. On the other hand, is created with nitrogen internal pressure defined in the bottle to prevent its collapse during transport and handling. With this internal pressure, the bottle can be processed without problems and transported on normal pallets. The new section of the neck without the subject developed especially for this bottle ring weighs only 1.3 grams; and with just 1.1 grams, the lid is also ultra light.
