What makes results technicians, on the first day of the 5th House, was presented the results obtained in each of them project activities in the course of the first half of 2008, noting very encouraging results both in them activities concerning new processes of forming, as well as those dedicated to the development of new materials and coatings for the forming of steels and high strength. With the definition of new processes of forming, both cold and heat, is expected to alleviate the difficulties of high-strength steels to be formed, while new materials for tools are being developed with the development of new materials and coatingsable to withstand thermal, and mechanical requirements and increase the durability of the tools, as well as its productive capacity.
The second day of the Assembly served to plan in detail for each activity the work carried out during the second half of 2008, work of serve to confirm the good expectations and transform them into inconclusive results.
Carlos Roma, Manager of relations on institutional of the Group VW/Spain highlighted the importance of innovation in a sector as competitive as the car, as well as the good progress the project, the importance of the objectives achieved and the high expectations we have of the project in the short term. Roma also emphasized the change of attitude in researcher mentality of the Consortium since the beginning of the project, which has allowed an intense and fruitful cooperation between all partners and actors of the Consortium.
For its part, Javier Gil and Mur, Vice-Rector of research and innovation of the UPC, he remarked the importance of the relationship and cooperation between the company and University, as a way to be able to boost innovation and productivity in the business. He also stressed the research effort that is doing the UPC in the framework of this collaboration project.
