From idea to market
Somehow, the idea of product development has been maintained and has been even more far already that, currently, Naip (New Applications in Plastic) may, within its means, from designing the product of plastic to make it properly.
In the process of development, Naip from its beginnings until now, has been complementing the specific initial r & d services of design in plastics, with the measurement of parts and molds (service of Metrology), manufacture of fast prototypes (Stereolithography)(, sintering of polyamide, silicone molds...) for the industry in general, construction of moulds for aluminium and steel (with own technical Office of projects and machining), and finally the launch of a thermoplastics injection plant, where tests are performed both the of molds and small series, as the series production.
As says Ricardo Izquierdo, who now performs the functions of commercial Manager of the company, the process of creation and exit to the market of a product follows different successive stages: design, prototyping, validation, construction of molds and manufacturing tests.
NAIP is designed to be able to give service to the client in only one phase or all those that you want to.
Each of these phases is by itself sufficiently complex and specialized to merit specific attention. Therefore, Naip was born a company specialized in the manufacturing of rapid prototyping: ProtoX Technologies, as well as specific technical Office for the construction of moulds, Ecore.
ProtoX Technologies was created in 1996 as a result of the collaboration between Naip and the German company, Fruht Innovative Technologies (FIT), of great experience in the manufacture of fast prototypes, in all its productive varieties.
For its part, Naip builds mould of aluminum for the injection of prototypes, as well as moulds of steel for production in series.
From idea to production
During the process of 3D design, are considered to be both the criteria properly technicians (functional design of the piece) as those of design which might favorably influence the minimization of manufacturing costs (search for the minimum weight, but with thicknesses that can fill well into the mould)(, simplicity in the tooling of production: molde minimum and single mounts...).
After this first stage of development and engineering, we obtain a computer file with a virtual three-dimensional piece. To verify that the design meets the desired expectations can spend to a next phase, which includes rapid prototyping (Stereolithography, sintering...), or directly to the construction of a mold prototype of aluminium for the final a pre-production plastic injection. After this whole process, which may have required different improvements in the design, the client obtains a piece validated and fit to go to the final phase: the construction of a cast of series.
To comply with this last phase, Naip has a workshop of molds and an own injection machinery park ranging from a Babyplast of 6 tons, to 230 tons injection machines.
