La Seda Barcelona, which resumed last April production at its plant in El Prat de Llobregat, wide its production capacity with the opening of its second production line. Artenius Prat - with a current staff of 122 people - has a production capacity of 170,000 tonnes a year of PET polymer, the increase in the production of the plant through the opening of this second line will amount to 14,000 metric tons per montha 28 per cent of the total capacity of La Seda Barcelona currently is 50,000 monthly metric tons, with about 95 per cent occupancy levels.

The good market situation is enabling the company to begin the path to the recovery of market share and for this reason and in order to be able to adapt to demand and to respond to its customers - the main companies in the sector of the consumption-the company has decided to increase production at its facilities in El Prat. Also, this increase in the operational industrial will continue gradually until reaching 100% of their installed capacity in the month of June. At the moment are also operating production plants of PET of the group in Turkey, Italy - San Giorgio-, Portugal and Greece.
