Closes the Congress of industrial innovation in San Sebastian

The general Secretary of innovation, Juan-Tomas Hernani, and the Minister of industry, Bernabe Unda presided over the closing ceremony of the 18th Edition of the Congress of machine tool by Koldo Arandia, President of AFM. In the event of closure of the Congress, took also part numerous representatives of the different administrations and business organizations, technological centres and enterprises. Of the Basque Government was attended also by Pedro Gómez Damborenea, Deputy Minister of Cabinet, planning and strategy and Xabier Sabalza, director of innovation and the information society; of the Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa, Arantza Tapia, Member of mobility and land, Pello González, Member of the Treasury and finance and Eneko Goia, Deputy of infrastructure Viarias. Along with all the Mayor of Elgoibar, Alfredo Etxeberria, the Managing Director of Elkargi, Jesus Alberdi, the director-general of Tekniker, Alex Bengoa and the director of the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, Xabier Basañez, among others.
In the course of the closing ceremony the prizes of the Congress, surrendered the Kutxa and the provincial Council Award. The Kutxa Award for the best work submitted by a University fell in a paper developed jointly by Tecnun and UPV. In this paper, entitled 'model for the prediction of the surface topography in peripheral milling whereas the vibration of the tool', the jury highlighted the fact that two universities within a programme of cooperative research of the Basque Government have collaboratedtogether with the clarity, seriousness and rigour in the exhibition and the projection of the work for its industrialization. Javier Larrañaga, commercial director of enterprises of Kutxa, handed over the award to Mikel Tecnun Arizmendi.
On the other hand, the company Ibarmia received Prize Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa communication more innovative with the participation of a company. The jury appreciated the presentation of evidence of how the company manages to transform scientific knowledge into business benefit. This communication, developed in collaboration with Fatronik, is an example of the innovative effort for a company to apply knowledge in collaboration with external partners to develop innovative solutions, and search a diversification in the product that will provide value to the market. The presentation is entitled 'The development of multithreaded machines' to reconcile the needs of flexible and efficient manufacturing and was one of the authors, Iñaki Ibarmia Murua, who collected the prize from the hands of Iñaki Ibarra, director general of promotion of innovation and the knowledge of the Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa.
