The project Nanosurf will improve the properties of the surfaces by means of nanotechnology
19 December 2013
Three technological institutes of the Valencian Community work in cooperation in the project Nanosurf so as to modify the properties of surfaces by means of the application of nanotechnology to distinct materials.
The project, coordinated by
According to members of the team of investigation: “Many of the final properties of the materials depend mainly of the nature of his surface, by what these superficial treatments allow the drastic improvement of properties in the traditional materials, in addition to providing new unpublished functionalities”.
The final aim of Nanosurf is to find synergies between distinct methodologies of application and technical of traditional characterisation of each material and study them in different materials and like this can increase the fan of applications and provision of the substrata current. For this, during this first anualidad, the consortium formed by the three institutes, is making leaves of route for each material, with the traditional methodologies of modification of surfaces, as well as his technicians of characterisation and his main applications. This allows to select those that it could be interesting explore in other substrata.
Pretends explore new applications inalcanzables with the current technicians. It expects that the results of the project allow, between other applications, improve the mechanical properties, the resistance to the abrasion of the pieces manufactured, the increase of the catalytic activity of electrodes and other a lot of that will go identifying.
The project Nanosurf, with number of file IMDECA/2013/12, is being funded, inside the program of Projects in collaboration, by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) and cofinanciado the European Bottom of Regional Development (FEDER), inside the Operative Program FEDER of the Valencian Community 2007-2013.
