Around 26 tonnes of threads falsified with a value of more than one million euros have been destroyed in this occasion in the installations of Interserorh Franken Rohstoff GmbH in Schweinfurt. An operation that continues with the carried out in 2007 in which around 40 tonnes of threads were destroyed in the headquarters of
A big number of these false threads come from of raids in the installations of distributors of threads in Europe. “The piracy of products and marks is not a phenomenon that limits to Asia and to the Sudeste of Europe. Also it takes place right here”, it affirms Ingrid Bichelmeir-Böhn, manager of the team of Protection of Global Mark in Schaeffler. “In the European markets and German no so only can find fakes of products of luxury or of products of consumption but also there is an increase of the fakes of industrial products, notable for the hygiene, like the threads”. The threads for husillos, oscillating threads of rollers, threads to balls and of needles turned into scrap during this operation are so only a part of the products falsified confiscated. The majority were destroyed under the supervision of the corresponding national authorities involved.
The fake of threads and the distribution of these products are pursued of permanent form by Schaeffler all over the world and can have in some important cases penal consequences.
On the other hand, the economic losses caused by the fake of products are very difficult to estimate. In addition to the loss of sales and of the damage to the image of the company by the low quality of the products, also is necessary to add the high costs of the investigation, incautación and of the correct destruction of the threads. And no only they result prejudiced the companies that manufacture products of mark but also those companies that install fakes and his customers.
Associations like the World-wide Association of Threads (World Bearing Association, www.stopfakebearings.com), the Association Antifalsificaciones German (www.markenpiraterie-apm.de) and the Committee of Protection of Marks (www.qbpc.org.cn) guarantee that the public was informed on the risks caused by the use of industrial products falsified. These organisations also work jointly with the pertinent authorities with the aim to create the prerrequisitos legal and organizacionales to struggle of effective form against the fakes and therefore protect to manufacturers and customers.
