New method for abaratir the manufacture of pieces of titanium
26 March 2013
A consortium of Norwegian companies, capitaneado by Norsk Titanium Components (NTiC), has patented a new method that allows abaratar the production of pieces of titanium. The technology, called Direct Deposition of Metal (DMD by his acronyms in English) based in arch reflect, allows to create pieces of near complex forms to the final form of a totally programmable form and on a large scale.
The method developed allows a big flexibility and the capacity to produce big variety of sizes and forms with a high ratio of productivity. By means of the fusion of a thread of titanium, the metal deposits directly layer to layer on a sustrato to build the component designed in CAD with a near form to the final form. In this way it reduces the need of mechanised.
This method allows a lower waste of material, more flexibility of production, reduced and greater costs profits environingingmental, compared with the methods of traditional production.
