The European machine vision Association held its first Conference in Barcelona

Attending the Congress of EMVA in Barcelona

The newly constituted European Association of machine of vision (EMVA) organized its first Conference in Barcelona last May. The European Machine Vision Business Conference was also the first public act of the EMVA, so it took the inaugural meeting to elect the Executive Committee. The only Spanish representative as part of this Committee is the director of the Basque company Datapixel, Antonio Ventura-Traveset. The other members are representatives of Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Sweden. Datapixel was also the only Spanish company who attended this Conference of the EMVA.

EMVA, which brought together in this Conference to 43 companies from 14 European countries, aims to act as a network to help the interests of the enterprises of machine vision and help ensure Europe's leadership in this technological discipline. The Association stands out from this meeting is the first time that experts and representatives of the industry from all over Europe gather to exchange ideas and points of view. The Conference organized by the EMVA exhaustively analyzed each of the European markets for machine vision and organized five workshops on various technology topics.

During the session dedicated to the analysis of the European machine vision market, the experts stressed that this technology of industrial application remains one of which has better forecasts of growth, with rates above 15 and 20 per cent in most countries.

The Conference held in Barcelona predicted a promising future to EMVA, as it brought together, for the first time and in the same place, to the most prestigious executives, analysts and experts in machine vision, industrial sector of growing interest.
