The Provincial Association of Employers of Cleaning of Buildings and Venues of Pontevedra (Aelpo), constituted by 31 companies that group to a total of 3.300 workers in the province of Pontevedra, celebrated in Vigo a Professional Day of Cleaning, main meeting point of the professionals of the sector in the Galician community and in forum of analysis of experts of this industry to national level.

The day, headed to managers and employers, attendants, responsible of team and professional linked to the sector, gathered to more than a hundred of experts and specialists of the sector and gave to know the last advances in machinery, systems and products for the professional cleaning in all type of installations and surfaces with live demonstrations. Likewise, they presented the systems of control witnesses of specific workers of the sector and have analysed the dangers of the use of chemical products employees in the distinct surfaces. Of the same way, tackled , amongst other subjects, the keys of leadership and the work in team to reach the business success.

Likewise, in the frame of this meeting, the president of Aelpo, Miguel Vila, did delivery of the Carnés Professional of the second promotion of the sector of Cleaning of Buildings and Venues of the province of Pontevedra, learning that capacita to the professionals of this sector like experts in the handle of chemical products and prevention of labour risks.

In spite of that the cleaning has turned into a social demand, traditionally the sector has suffered from of a fault of social recognition caused by the nonexistence of a ruled learning. For this reason, the industry of professional cleaning demands a recognition of the learning through the corresponding official qualifications by means of initiatives like the creation of the Carnés Professional that treat to improve the professional qualification of all the workers of the sector of the professional cleaning and of his members in particular. They have a length of five years and, in spite of that, by the moment is not an exigible requirement for the exert of the activity, in a future could be a request for the intermediate controls.

The carnés professional are cream of a conjoint initiative between Aelpo and Afelín (Associations Federadas of Employers of National Cleanings), and Pontevedra has been the third province, after Madrid and Biscay, in setting up this professional qualification.

In Spain, 25.000 companies devote to the cleaning, professional hygiene and to the manufacture, sale and distribution of machinery, and move a volume of business of some 14.000 million euros. Galicia has more than 1.200 companies, of which 400 locate in the province of Pontevedra and employ to 8.300 workers. By provinces, A Coruña concentrates 36% of the companies, Pontevedra 35%, Lugo 15% and Ourense 14%.
