February 24, 2011
The brothers Javier and Ignacio Gómez Salamanca, managers of the Spanish company Commercial Ulsan, have been winners of the XXVII competition 'young entrepreneur of the year in Valladolid'. Commercial Ulsan was founded in the 1970s by Ulpian Salamanca and, after the second generation, formed by Fernando Gomez and Rosa Salamanca, were Javier and Ignacio who took the reins of this family business.
This event it develops the school of business at the University of Valladolid next to the Junta of Castilla and León and other business organizations. As indicate Javier and Ignacio, "the secret to achieving this award has been to start from the bottom up, with humility, littering the hands if needed". "At the beginning, the company was dedicated to the industrial supply and protective equipment, and we decided to devote special efforts to the latter because to succeed in competitive conditions that the market demands you have to try to be the best in yours"", being a leader". Javier and Ignacio launched a message which was unanimously supported by those attending the press conference, "We must avoid thinking that being businessman is equal to become Chief." "At first people start from below, littering it and downloading the truck if necessary".
There are several strategies taken by the Gomez brothers of Salamanca so commercial ULSAN has experienced growth achieved in recent years, diversification of product making a special effort in the products and industries on the rise such as they are preventing labour (incorporating a wider choice in equipment protection and Workwear)environment (counting with the wider range of absorbent products and the storage of dangerous products), together with the potential in the industrial supply sector. Clearly the opening of new plants in the industrial area of San Cristobal has been a turning point that marked a before and an after that has allowed to expand both the area of warehouse and store and rationalize the space.
