Leroy Merlin consolidates his presence in Big Canarian

The new shop of The Palms will be situated in Tamaraceite and will have a commercial surface of some 11.500 square metres. The establishment will have of more than 350 squares of parking, including subterranean and in surface. Regarding the employment, the shop will have a staff of 150 people and will create 50 places of indirect work. This opening will suppose an investment of 35 million euros by part of the company.
The current shop of Telde has positioned from his opening in 1999 like commercial referent in the zone, with more than 1.700.000 visits in the last year. Given the good path of the shop, Leroy Merlin comes working in the last years to make possible the enlargement of the installations, at present in administrative formalities. This enlargement will improve the catalogue of products and services for the neighbours of Telde and near zones. Besides, the enlargement will comport the creation of roughly 15 new places of work. At present they work in the shop 188 collaborators, 95% of them with an indefinite agreement. Likewise, this shop in Telde supposes a big active for the local economy, with a generation of wealth of more than 1,8 million euros thanks to the promotion of indirect employment of activities related with the shop.
Apart from these two shops in Big Canarian, the company has two shops in Tenerife, specifically in The Lagoon and in The Orotava. Like this, after the inauguration of Leroy Merlin The Palms, the company will have of 4 shops in the Canary Islands adding 58 points of sale in Spain, with presence in 15 of the 17 autonomous communities.
