Knauf Insulation joins the Atecos project of sustainability

The company Knauf Insulation has signed an agreement of collaboration with the Foundation environment-BCSD Spain, going to form part of the Group of participating companies promoted by the Foundation itself along with the General Foundation of the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Millarium software company in the Atecos project.

Atecos (technical assistant for sustainable construction) project is a web-based platform designed to provide expertise on energy improving the building sector professionals, whether architects, quantity surveyors, engineers, builders, installers, developers, energy productivity or real estate agents, and both public and private.

The new model of growth in the construction sector, based on the rehabilitation, the introduction of renewable energy and energy savings have marked a new orientation of the sector. All this requires professionals to adapt to new needs, starting with meet the new regulations, administrative procedures, tax incentives or subsidies available and at the same time, to update on the new construction techniques, the new tools of calculus and design and the products and services offered by the companies in the sector.

For this reason Knauf Insulation has joined the Atecos project, which has the support institutional of the Ministry of housing and the Ministry of environment and Rural and marine. According to Eva Davila, Director of marketing of Knauf Insulation to the Iberian Peninsula, "added to the project of the Foundation environment is an example of our ongoing commitment to achieve greater sustainability in the construction projects that are carried out".

During the process of design and development of the system, Knauf Insulation will help to define the content based on an analysis of the concerns, doubts and common needs of the professionals in the field of the thermal and acoustic insulation.

The signing of the cooperation agreement between Knauf Insulation and the Fundación Entorno - BCSD Spain is a sample of participation in topics of interest to the sector, thereby bringing its experience in issues of isolation termoacustico and sustainable construction, which will serve to complement the contents of the Web ATECOS application to be launched early next year.
