Perkins Initiates the countdown for the new range of motors 1206
8 June 2012
The highest model of the range is the new engine 1206F-And70TTA Twin Turbo, a unit of 7 litres and six able cylinders to generate 225 kW (300 CV), what will allow to the manufacturers reach the same power that with motors of greater size. It uses two turbocompressesors (one small and another big) mounted in series. The first stage (small turbocompressesor) accelerates with rapidity, offers an excellent answer to low speeds and develops 1.280 Nm of pair to 1.400 rpm, whereas the second stage (big turbocompressesor) guarantees the high discharge of air that needs to obtain an extraordinary density of power.
To the hour to develop this new range, Perkins has treated to minimise the effects of the system of back treatment that demand the normative Tier 4 End/Stage IV, and in particular the important reduction of the levels of NOx. For this has combined the cartridge DOC/FPD and the system SCR in an alone integrated cheese cheese module that can mount in the chassis of the machine or directly on the engine.
This light and compact module of back treatment frees space in the compartment of the engine and incorporates diverse novelties that facilitate the installation, like flexible options of entrance and exit, preinstalación of electronic components or stick for lines of liquid of leakage diesel (Diesel Exhaust Flow, DEF). All this contributes to reduce the work that have to realise the manufacturers.
For installations with big limitations of space offers a module of back treatment totally isolated that reduces the superficial temperature.
The FPD (filter of particles diesel) employs now passive regeneration, a totally transparent system for the operator and without maintenance, by what minimises costs during all the useful life of the machine. Also it facilitates the installation in the compartment of the engine, since it does not demand that it access directly to remove ashes.
The 1206F reduces the consumption of liquids around 5% in comparison with previous models. It incorporates the diesel and the DEF necessary for the technology SCR, so that it allows to the user do more things, in less time and with a cost of operation lower.
Perkins Has optimised the systems SCR in motors of between 3,4 and 7,1 litres so that it can offer to his customers the best advantages.
“The range 1206F will follow the senda marked by our range of motors for the normative Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB”, comments Daniel Clayton, director of Marketing of Perkins for products Tier 4. “Now we are using technology SCR of third generation, that already has showed his cost in the sector. This allows us fulfil with the rule without that neither manufacturers neither users lose absolutely at all. In fact, we work to offer them increasingly advantages, like a lower consumption of liquids, costs lower of cycle of life or greater productivity of the machines, in addition to contributing to protect the environingingment.”
