to? Finalised the excavation of the left tunnel of the Tunnel of Sorbas of the line of High Speed Murcia-Almería, in the stretch Sorbas-Ravine of the Gafarillos. The stretch Sorbas-Ravine of the Gafarillos discurre entirely by the municipal term of Sorbas, in the province of Almería. The tunnel has an approximate length of 7,5 kilometres, what represents the 98,7 percent of the total length of the stretch. It treats of the greater rail tunnel of Andalucia, surpassing to the tunnel bitubo of Abdalajís (Málaga).For the excavation of the left tube, has employed the tuneladora called Alcazaba, that realised previously the perforación of right tunnel, whose cale effected on 15 March of the past year. From this moment proceeded to the desmontaje of this machinery, for his transfer and setting in the mouth north and initiate the works, in felt north-south, of the second tube. The works of perforación of this tube initiated on 15 July 2011 and have prolonged six months, two months less than in the perforación of the first tube. The tunnel of Sorbas, is formed by two tubes of only road with a free section of 52 m2 each one, and that has a half separation of 26 m, whereas the maximum longitudinal slope of the tunnel is of 12,5%.
The line of High Speed Almería-Murcia has a length of 185 km, without explaining the accesses to Murcia. Of this total length, 108 kilometres discurren by the province of Almería and the 76,4 remaining kilometres by the Autonomous Community of Murcia. It foresees the execution of two intermediate stations in Lorca (Murcia) and Vera-Almanzora (Almería), as well as the future station of Almería, inside the works of rail integration in the city. In the project, have taken into account a series of performances that guarantee the greater respect by the surroundings, that are collected in the Statement of Environingingmental Impact. They cost like example, the elimination of dumps of demolitions to avoid afecciones to the aquifers of the zone, the protection and collected of copies of turtle dwells.
