Andalucia collaborates with Adif in the development of innovative rail projects

The Council of Economy, Innovation and Science, through the Agency Contrives, and the Administrator of Rail Infrastructures (Adif), dependent of the Ministry responsible for public works, have agreed to promote in Andalucia an investment of 40 millions in the development of projects of cooperation and innovation in the rail sector.
These agreements will allow to Adif develop in the autonomous community an intelligent regional strategy in the rail field and give answer to the growth of the activity of investigation, technological development and innovation that will receive Málaga, with the project of the rail ring and the Centre/Center of rail Technologies that the national agent develops in the province.

The first of these agreements foresees that Adif will set up a series of innovative performances in Andalucia, in the frame of his Program of Innovation and Cooperation 2011/14, with an upper investment to the 40 million euros. These initiatives will develop in three big areas: a technological, linked to the operations; another of sustainability, and another related with the transport of commodities. The second of the agreements signed contemplates that the Agency CONTRIVES will yield a space until 1.000 square metres in the building of Technological Modules, situated in the technological Park of Andalucia (PTA), in Málaga. The space will be able to be used by Adif to lodge to companies and entities that work in activities of investigation, technological development and innovation related with the Centre of Rail Technologies.
