ASCER will organize a seminar on ceramics and public works in Cevisama aimed at the Administration

ASCER (Spanish Association of manufacturers of tiles and paving ceramic) organizes Thursday 10 February, in the 29th edition of Cevisama, a technical seminar aimed mainly to architects, builders and engineers of various agencies of the Government of the Valencian Community in order to disseminate the use of tiles and ceramic coatings among this group.
The Spanish ceramic tile industry has developed in recent years a wide range of products suitable for use in public buildings and in urban planning: ventilated facades, technical floors, high traffic pavements, tiles for urban soils, etc. The day ' ceramics in architecture: proposals for the public works ' aims to bring innovations in this field to the prescribers and decision-makers within the different public administrations.
The day will be opened by the Regional Secretary of industry, Bruno Broseta. Then Javier Mira, director of the architecture of the ITC (Institute of ceramic technology) area will make a tour through the different ceramic products of interest to the public work, focusing on the features and advantages over other materials.
The programme closes a panel discussion under the title 'Opportunities and challenges of tile and ceramic floor tiles in the public works'. The Roundtable will be moderated by the architect Eduardo de Miguel, director of the Chair of ceramics in the technical Superior School of architecture of Valencia, and involved different professionals who have used ceramics in his recent work: Ramón Esteve Cambra, architect with a distinction in the ceramic prizes IX by the project of IES Jaime I in Ontinyent; Javier Soriano Rams, architect and technical director of Ciegsa (buildings and educational infrastructures of the Generalitat Valenciana); Christopher Badenes, head of Department of infrastructure, public services and environment of the City Council of Castellón; and Vicente Ibarra, head of planning services projects of ports and coasts of the regional Government Department of infrastructure, responsible for the project of the Paseo Poniente Benidorm (Carlos Ferrater winning the VIII prizes ceramic project).
