Asaja Murcia supports the new system of compulsory contracts in the dairy sector
February 02, 2011
Milk collected on the basis of the signed contract must be paid in complying with the existing law of delinquency, i.e. prior to 30 days. From Murcia Asaja "we understand, in this regard, it is imperative to establish a system of penalties to ensure the obligatory nature of the contractual relations and the fulfilment of its terms". On the other hand, the draft decree also specified within which the buyer industry must warn to carry out the termination of the contract, which Murcia Asaja believes that should be fixed at a minimum of 90 days, in order to provide the possibility of establishing contracts with other industries to the producer.
In this sense, this professional organization land and in the words of Alfonso Gálvez Caravaca believed "firmly that this model should be extended to the whole of the agricultural and livestock sectors, putting in place mandatory contracts with referenced prices".
With regard to the interprofessional dairy (Inlac), Asaja bet Murcia by strengthening its role, and it may be that perform the functions of monitoring, conciliation and information of the contractual relations in the dairy sector, developed a unique model of contract and exerting the role of mediator in the conflict to formalize a contract.
In this line, Asaja Murcia considers that the qualification of producers organisations (OP) should not be object of this Royal Decree, since that is a horizontal issue. In addition, the OP have been developed in other sectors, as that of fruit and vegetables, being clear that the formation of these figures of marketing management has not solved the problems of the sector. For this reason, from Asaja Murcia is committed to strengthening the bargaining power of producers represented by the members of the Inlac.
