MOXY has relied on the
Allison automatic transmissions for its two latest models of dumpers: the MT51 and the AB46. Its decision is based on the advantages that Allison provides: a wide range of models for use outside of the road, an increase in productivity and lower costs of operation. The new MT51 is a dump trucks, articulated with payload of 46.27 tons capacity. For its part, the AB46 is the first of the new generation of rigid dumpers. Both models were presented last April at the Bauma fair.
The MT51 is equipped with 6-speed of the Off-road 4600 series gearbox. The relationship of changes has been carefully selected in order to maximize their performance. Thanks to the constant power box transmitted to the wheels, is achieved a significant increase in their productivity. The robust and modular construction of the Allison boxes can reduce significantly both during the lifetime of the vehicle operating costs and maintenance costs. For its part the electronic controls of fourth generation of Allison guarantee high reliability and productivity of the dump trucks. They are scheduled to additionally protect the gearbox against inadequate gear changes and speeding of the engine, so widely improve performance. The electronic controls offer drivers a great smoothness and control during gear changes, which results in greater comfort and control of the operator. This control is essential with any type of vehicle, especially if it carries a payload of 46.27 tons. The automatic transmission allows drivers keep both hands at the wheel and focus all its attention on the work carried out, which increases the security increases a surprising way. Also, torque is multiplied by the converter, which ensures a soft start and increases traction, especially in soft and muddy fields. In addition, on very steep slopes, the closure of the converter in the first mechanism offers a direct coupling with the engine, so the maximum fuel efficiency is achieved.
Allison will supply gearboxes for the articulated dump trucks MT51 and the new generation of rigid dumpers (AB46) of Moxy
"Our r & d team has been overcome with the MT51", says Jamie Thomson, Managing Director of Moxy. "Improved everything from the costs of operation to the comfort of the driver." "In Moxy we are constantly working to overcome our limitations and be able to meet the present and future needs of our customers". For its part the new Moxy Aveling Barford AB46 it is the first model of the new range of rigid dumpers (VDRS), in development since the Moxy acquired last year the intellectual property of Aveling Barford. It is the smallest model range, with a payload of 42.108 kg. It is designed so that it can be loaded quickly and efficiently to maintain productivity and minimal operational costs of the MT51. On this occasion is has been equipped with an Allison H5610 AR gearbox also 6-speed.
Ricardo Sardelli, responsible for area of Allison Transmission in the United Kingdom States: "in order to meet the changing needs of the vehicles, in Allison we develop and improve constantly our gearboxes design." "We are proud that the leading and most innovative manufacturers know appreciate it".
The construction sector demand increasingly incorporating automatic gearboxes. This is confirmed by Sardelli: "Allison products are ideal for applications 4 x 4 where the resistance, reliability and productivity are essential." "Why are still in Allison are enjoying a huge growth in this market".
Allison Transmission automatic boxes provide models MT51 and Moxy AB46 a constant power to the wheels, which improves productivity and energy efficiency.
