Volvo CE Purchases the business of dúmperes rigid and articulated of Terex

In an operation that will improve the penetration of the company in the strategic sectors of movement of earths and of minería light,
The agreement, that is subject to the approval of the organisms of competition, includes the purchase of the factory of Motherwell (Scotland) and the incorporation to the range of Volvo of the models Terex of dúmperes rigid and articulated. Also it includes the distribution of these products in EE UU, as well as the purchase of 25,5% of the shareholders in Inner Mongolia North Hauler Joint Stock Co (NHL), company that manufactures and sells dúmperes rigid with the mark Terex in China (NHL cotiza in the Stock exchange of Shangai).
In this regard of this agreement the president of Volvo CE, Pat Olney, signalled: “This is a strategic acquisition that offers to Volvo CE a considerable field of growth. Between other things, the incorporation of the consolidated range of dúmperes rigid Terex increases the options of movement of earths for our customers related with the minería light".
The operation includes the purchase of five models of dúmperes rigid, with designs tested and capacities of load from 32 until 91 tonnes, machines with which Volvo CE pretends to increase his presence in the sector of the minería light, a complementary area to the construction, oil&gas, quarries and roads in which Volvo already is very active.
The operation also supposes the incorporation to the range Volvo of three models of dúmperes articulated, with capacities of load from 25 until 38 tonnes, what allows to strengthen the position of the company in this segment of the market.
To confirm the acquisition, Volvo CE also would add near of 500 employees to his staff and would allow to keep the use of the mark Terex in this type of machines during a period of transition. It trusts that the operation was finalised in the second quarter of 2014.
