The management of the urban waste constitutes a key subject in matter of sustainability of the cities, more still in a moment of crisis like the current. That is the leit motiv of the Conference Ategrus Limpur – Madrid. At present, in Spain, according to the association Ategrus, almost 90% of the sector is managed by private companies. This data contrasts with the rest of Europe, where according to a study of ISWA (acronyms of the English International Solid Waste Association), in which it analysed the situation of 19 emblematic cities, of 13 European countries, in 2007, only 19% of the management of this type of waste was to charge of private companies (62% were public, and 19% remaining mixed companies). That is to say, that the private management in the rest of Europe is minoritary, on the contrary that in Spain.
Regarding the rule, in this terrain inside our country, is capitalised by Aenor, through his Technical Committee of Normalisation, (CTN) 134, ‘Waste management', of the that forms part the own Ategrus. Proof of the importance of the regulation in this matter is the significant decrease of the costs of production, operation and maintenance that provides; as well as the decrease of the accidents. In the European field, the normalisation runs to charge of the Technical Committee 183 ‘Waste management', integrated cheese cheese by the organisms of normalisation of the countries members.
