The EPT participates actively like member in the European Authority of Metropolitan Transport

The Region of Murcia shows in the international meeting of the European organism the technology NFC, that allows to the user be informed through the mobile of the state of his bono. The Public Entity of the Transport of the Region of Murcia (EPT) formalised in Birmingham (United Kingdom) his inclusion in the European Authority of Metropolitan Transport, during the celebration of the general assembly of the quoted international institution. The integration of the regional entity to this European organism will allow him share the work and knowledge accumulated in his development in the region and apply it in the field of the public transport.

In the meeting, in which it appointed new president of the organism, ratified the presence of the EPT to European level and developed activities for the follow-up of the groups of work, such as the one of the technology applied NFC (Near Field Communication), of the that the Public Entity of the Transport of the Region forms part when being pioneering in his application. Regarding this new technology, the EPT exposed this week in Madrid, in a day organised by the Forum of New Technologies in the Transport, ITS Spain, the advances obtained in the payment by mobile in the Region of Murcia.

This model, based in the technology NFC, has a lot of possibilities to generalise had to mainly to that it is safer and comfortable, and will allow to face up of way very simple to small payments, as it is precisely the case of the public transport. Between the advantages that offers this technology, fits to stand out the possibility to keep informed to the user in each moment of the state of his credit of transport, of the number of trips of the bono, his last uses, recargas, amongst other data, through the screen of the mobile terminal. The system NFC consists in a chip situated in a mobile telephone that allows to realise different transactions approaching it to a device. Of this way, unlike the intelligent note, no only would serve to use the transport, but the possibilities of use are infinite whereas his use go extending.

Besides, technicians of the EPT treated the past Tuesday in the Ministry of Environment the way of application of the National Plan of Improvement of the Quality of the Air regarding the transport. Between the measures for his application stand out the labelled of the vehicles in function of it contaminantes that they are and the improvement of the fleet, as well as the limitation of the speed of circulation and variable speed. On the other hand, they concretised the indexes that will reflect in the report that all the years presents the Observatory of the Metropolitan Mobility (OMM). In concrete will loan special attention to the new technologies of information applied to the public transport and his penetration in the cities.
