June 22, 2011
THE City Council of Zaragoza, building constructions and contracts s.a. (FCC) and Contenur have launched a new project to carry out the installation of ecological Islands in their collection routes.
Contenur has installed ten ecological islands of containers buried a total of 41 hydraulic platforms of lateral load throughout the city. This new system works with the same mechanism that has any container of lateral load, however, to be housed under the ground, turns from the truck with a remote control that allows the operator to raise the platform at street level for proceeding with the collection of the container and subsequent withdrawal of the waste.
The system of burying of containers is an effective method that facilitates the deposit, storage and efficient of any type of waste discharge. The mailboxes where the residues are introduced are hosted on a platform located on the street and are characterized by being easy to use by the public. Zaragoza City Council has chosen the mailboxes made in stainless steel custom with the coat of arms of the city, also carry an identification plate informing the citizen about the type of waste to be deposited in each mailbox.
Contenur is a company founded in 1985, dedicated since its inception to the research, development, manufacture and marketing of containers, bins, street furniture and playgrounds, as well as the services and applications aimed at the improvement of the environment.
