on June 6, 2011
Consultation Teleco, Advisory Office in telecommunications for local administrations of the Junta de Andalucía, since the beginning of 2011 to the Andalusian town halls offers the service free and informative EMRed, a tool of measurement of electromagnetic waves; i.e. those issued by the systems of radio, television or mobile telephony antennas, and by other electronic devices.
This service, launched in December 2010, allows technicians of the municipalities that have measurement stations located in its municipal term consult at any time, via the website www.consultateleco.es (so it is necessary to register as a user registered on the website), objective and reliable information on levels of exposure to electromagnetic emissions and check compliance with the limits set by the regulations in force.
This service, managed by the company Sandetel, is now available in 14 municipalities of Andalusia and is expected to reach the fifty devices installed by end of this year. Although there is no prerequisite for the application of the devices, the installed measurement stations have been located in municipalities where has detected that the population has some concern by the placement of any antenna, whether mobile, radio or television.
