Smart badén?

The BIV (intelligent speed Badén), registered and patented worldwide, serves as a selective and intelligent device to pose an obstacle for those vehicles that exceed the established in the road speed only and does not affect those travelling respecting speed limits.
This is due to that the BIV contains as an essential element within a non-Newtonian material, in which the particles are moving on a regular basis, in a liquid state, but in which all these particles are aligned at the time that receive an impact, passing immediately, and until the impact end to a solid state.
What is a non-Newtonian fluid?
Non-Newtonian fluids are those that have behave differently to the water. There are several classes within the non-Newtonian fluids (reo-espesante, reo-fluidificante, viscous elastic, etc). Fluids reo-espesantes (dilatantes) are suspensions that there is an increase of viscosity to the speed of deformation, i.e. an increase in the shear with such speed.
The phenomenon of the dilatancia takes place due to the dispersed phase of the fluid. At low speeds, the liquid acts as a lubricant, and the non-Newtonian fluid flows without difficulty. At higher speeds, there is a packing of particles (fluid can not fill the spaces created between particles), and the friction increases greatly, causing an increase in viscosity.
Non-Newtonian material allows the Baden does not offer any resistance to vehicles which respect the airspeed, on the other hand it represents a slump for those who do not.
The BIV presents many advantages in comparison with the current badén, as to avoid the obstacle if you MTB to the speed limit:
- Reduces the possibility of road traffic accidents before sudden braking to approaching a Baden and avoiding the collision between vehicles.
- Avoid back injuries caused by sudden jumps and the many changes in height of the route by which circulates.
- Reduce damage to the vehicle both damping and mechanical parts that he would not suffer any impact.
- Reduces environmental pollution that would avoid sudden braking and subsequent acceleration thereby a lower emissions of CO2, because that is kept the same speed on the road.
- Eliminates noise to remove noise from braking prior to a current badén.
This fluid is biodegradable and is not toxic or polluting, also does not run the risk of a possible rupture through the enveloping plastic, a flexible material that has properties that guarantee a high resistance to wear and unfavourable weather conditions and that it also has a mesh antivandalism which will improve even more the resistance of this device. The plastic has been created by Andaltec, associated company, which is leading in the sector of the plastics of the latest technology.
Easy to install
With regard to the installation of the device, this is done through a few metal plates and screws, and does not require civil work, while yes it is needed in the case of the conventional badenes. In addition the badén adapts to the demands of height, dimensions, pitch angle of entry and exit of the rules published in the Official Gazette, allowing that it can be installed in any type of road.
For its innovative system has already received several awards, including the 'Best technological innovation', awarded by the Spanish Foundation for road safety (Fesvial) in February 2010, and the ' award for innovation of the Intertraffic 2010 international trade fairgranted last March.
