The E Plan has generated far more than 400,000 jobs

The E Plan, Plan Spanish for the stimulus of the economy and employment, is a special fund which is a mobilization of public resources unprecedented in Spain. The purpose of this Fund is to promote the realization of public work and generating investment of Act(ADA) by the municipalities, in order to contribute to the revitalization of the economy in 2009. It is equipped with 8 billion euros, which has doubled the annual investment mean that local public works carried out by all the city councils of Spain.
Its primary objectives have been maintaining and creating jobs promote the viability and employment of small and medium-sized enterprises focused on activities attached to the construction and improve municipal infrastructure available to all the citizens in the construction sector.
The project has been funded
It has financed mainly projects of municipal competition of new planning and immediate execution, so that they have been throughout 2009 and be completed during the quarter of this year. Each project may not exceed the amount of EUR 5 million.
Investment of productive character or special social utility is:
- Rehabilitation or improvement of public urban and industrial promotion.
- Equipment and infrastructure in road networks, sanitation, lighting and telecommunications.
- Construction, rehabilitation or improvement of social, medical, funeral, educational, cultural or sporting equipment.
- Protection of the environment, pollution prevention and energy efficiency drive.
- Removal of architectural barriers.
- Conservation of the city and historical heritage.
- Construction or improvement of the network of water supply and wastewater treatment.
- Improvement of road safety and promotion of sustainable urban mobility.
- Prevention of fires.
- Promotion of tourism.
99,26% Of the works of the State Fund for Local investment is already completed or underway
According to a release from the Ministry of Territorial policy, some 30.547 projects financed by the State Fund for Local investment, endowed with EUR 8 billion have been financed until last December. Projects already funded, and that they are completed or underway, are virtually all, 99,26% of the initially approved 30,772. According to the Ministry, from the month of December, only remained 225 works (0.73%) receive the necessary funding for his home.
The municipalities that are running these works are 8.024, in addition to six municipalities, representing 99% of 8.108 Councils with approved projects for the start of the work. The investment for the start of the projects is 5.284 million euros (corresponding to the advancement of 70% of the cost of the work).
The Ministry also asserts that the works have already generated 425.945 jobs in the Spanish municipalities, representing 53% more than the job originally planned for the plan.
