(Ii) awards to local practices good for the climate

The month of June was made II awards to local practices good climate which awarded every two years the Spanish network of cities for the climate of the FEMP.
The Donostia-San Sebastian City Council received one of the prizes in the specialty eco-innovation, with the project 'San Sebastián minimizes waste', which seeks to minimize the volume of waste generated by the city.
The town of Noáin-Valle de Elorz was awarded in the category of energy by its Municipal Plan for climate change that develops actions in the field of savings and energy efficiency.
In the chapter on mobility, the award-winning project is called Punta Umbría move, promoted by the onubense municipality, and that addresses various actions framed in a Plan of sustainable urban mobility, such as the construction of car parks on the outskirts of the town centre, pedestrianisation of streets, bike lanes or bicycle mobility, among other plans.
Finally, in the category of spatial planning, urban planning and construction, the city of Gijón was awarded by the set of actions which it is carried out in an area of 800 hectares of its municipal area, including intervention projects and improves and restoration and landscape adaptation.
