Thanks to these teams, the anaerobic digestion from mud has increased its concentration from a 3 up to a 20 / 22%, which facilitates its evacuation in trucks, significantly reduces transport costs and also allows you to reuse them for agricultural uses. In addition, 'octopus' minimizes oversight by operators and allows you to connect the system within hours when electricity consumption is cheaper, which provides significant economic savings.
The 'octopus' monitoring system and the new decanters provide substantial savings, transport of sludge is one of the higher costs of a wastewater treatment plant. Another advantage of the new facility is that it has significantly improved the working conditions of employees of the plant, reducing the intervention of the operators to the minimum.
The dry mud produced at this facility is currently intended to direct agricultural application, one of the uses that are regulated in the autonomous community of Andalusia and that is the only use that is being given to all the mud produced in this plant and all the plants of wastewater treatment with Aljarafesa in Andalusia.
