The executive secretary for the Climatic Change of the UN will inaugurate Carbon Expo 2013
20 May 2013
According to the scientists of NOAA, before the industrial revolution of the 19th century, the levels of CO2 were of 280 particles by million. This worrisome figure puts of relief the need of an evento like Carbon Expo, where will debate the programs and destined mechanisms to reduce the broadcasts of carbon before the Climatic Summit of the United Nations that will celebrate in Warsaw to finals of this year.
The investors and the market demand structural changes in the European System of Trade of Broadcasts (EU ETS), vertebral column of the climatic politics of this continent. Besides, the reduced adhesion of the countries to the second period of the Protocol of Kioto translates in a low demand of the reduction of the broadcasts of carbon, what also involves few incentives for new investments.
At the same time, are arising all over the world initiatives of fixation of the prices of the carbon to regional and national level and appear innovative ideas that are transforming the fight against the climatic change. However, they exist still challenges that have to resolve, like the mobilisation of private bottoms in the fight against the gases of effect invernadero and the fragmentation of the initiatives of mitigación. Thus, Carbon Expo 2013 proposes facilitate the dialogue between governmental representatives, the private sector, international organisations and the civil society.
