DHL Gives the keys of the logistics for intelligent cities by means of his project 'City logistics'
As it explains Santiago Blasco, responsible of New Products and Services Retail of DHL Supply Chain Spain, “the problems associated with the congestion in the traffic that generates the distribution of commodities in the urban surroundings and the importance of the problems associated, such as the acoustic and environingingmental pollution, the reduction of the hygiene vial and of the quality of life, will cost roughly 1% of the GDP in the next years and are the main reason so that the local authorities propose the set up of rules to a rationalisation and better regulation of the traffic in the field of his competitions”.
DHL Supply Chain Proposes the model ‘City Logistics' as an approach proactivo to the innovation through the introduction of new technologies and the definition of models optimised of urban distribution to improve the gestión of the flows that generates the distribution in the urban surroundings.
The proposal of value of DHL Supply Chain contributes direct improvements. Some examples stirred by the company: increase of the current 40% of half load with that go out the trucks of distribution to near of 95%, would reduce in roughly 50% the number of trucks that go in and go out of a big city each day.
