Some of the most emblematic spaces of the Barcelona of does a century can visit through the mobile telephone thanks to the project “Visual Barcelona”, of the Institute of Culture of Barcelona (ICUB), in collaboration with Telefónica and the Photographic Archive. The deputy mayor of Culture, Knowledge, Creativity and Innovation, Jaume Ciurana; the director of Programs of Cultural Diffusion of the ICUB, Pilar Rock, and the president of Time Out Barcelona, Oriol Soler, presented in press conference the new projects of on-line cultural “communication”, to disposal of all the citizens of free way.

Through a free application by iPhone and próximamente for Android, the users of this tool can visit the city and adentrarse by his history through a total of 172 photographies of the bottoms of the Photographic Archive. The managers of the centre have made a map of points of interest so much for the local citizen as for the tourist of the Gothic, the Eixample, the Raval, the Maritime Front or Montjuïc.

In a second phase is foreseen to expand the contents with current images and routes by the city, as the one of the Modernism. The application, according to Rock, locates through a GPS to the user, the one who with his camera of the mobile telephone focuses a point and from a repertoire of photographies can see superimposed the ancient image, from the point in which it was taken. It treats of a process designated “refotografía”, a gender that consists to go back to photograph from the same place a previously registered scene. Also it is possible to know from now through the mobile all the information of cultural field that generates in the city, thanks to the program “Cultural Barcelona”.
