Speakers of a ten of countries will debate in Recuwatt on the gestión of the waste
Recuwatt Is organised by the Consorci per to the Tractament of Residus Sòlids Urbans of the Maresme and the Agència of Residus of Catalonia, and has the collaboration and participation closely of forty so much public entities like private.
Recuwatt Premièred the year happened with excellent results, so much in relation to the number of assistants (more than 400) as of entities public and private collaborators. The aim of the contest is to consolidate like professional meeting of reference south of Europe on energetic valorisation of waste.
The second edition will have like expert speakers of a ten of countries –United States, Colombia, France, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Spain– with the will to treat the appearances of more interest and actuality inside the sector so much in the national field like international.
Between the planned reports in the program stand out the two American participations: Alfredo Guillermo Molina, representing of the Congress of the Republic of Colombia, that will take part to the Block I of general appearances of the gestión of waste (4 October from the 10:30 h); and James D. Warner, president of Solid Waste Association of North America, will speak of the Fuels Derived of the Waste (5 October to the 9h).
Meeting of Spanish cities with plants of valorisation
One of the most stood out novelties of the second edition of the Recuwatt will be the meeting of mayors and councillors of Spanish cities that have of plants of energetic valorisation in his territory, and to which also has invited to participate some European cities. The meeting will celebrate the previous day in the Congress, on 3 October, with the assistance of the adviser of Territory and Sustainability, Lluís Recoder, and the conclusions of the same will explain in the frame of the contest, the day 4 at 12.30h.
Another of the planned novelties is a round table, the day 5 to the 11h, that will have the presence of general directors of different Spanish Autonomous Communities – Catalonia, Valencian Community, Andalucia, Balearic and Basque Country– that will debate on the gestión of the waste to his territory.
Prize to the best summary of scientific work
The close collaboration and involvement with the Congress of different universities and institutions of research and technological research (Academic Partners) will yield this year in the creation of a prize for the best summary of scientific work (poster) on the recovery of waste for students and researchers in these entities collaborating. Works will be exposed during the days of the Congress and those attending the same vote which seems best to them. The winner will be announced the day of the conclusion and will receive a prize of 500.
Mark the future of the politics on waste
During the presses conference, the president of the Consorci per to the Tractament of Residus Sòlids Urbans of the Maresme and mayor of Mataró, Joan Dwells, has indicated that the Congress situates Mataró and the region in general “in first international line”, fact that has to take advantage of to situate and show the model of gestión of waste of the territory.
By his part, the director of the Agència of Residus of Catalonia, Josep M. Tost, has aimed that “the current moment supposes a stage of reflection on the world of the waste” and that “Mataró and the Maresme have to be in the centre of this reflection”. For Josep M. Tost, “Recuwatt is a meeting point that the experts can not lose” and that “it has to mark without any type of doubt the future of the politics of waste of Catalonia, the Spanish State and Europe”.
More than 400 installations in the European Union
The energetic valorisation of waste supposes a road of complementary gestión to the one of the previous material recycling and that it has to be prioritaria to any activity of elimination by means of dump, as it establishes the European and Spanish legislation. At present they work more than 400 installations of energetic valorisation in the European Union.
