Extended four months the new plan for hazardous waste in Andalusia
July 27, 2011
The Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucía has agreed to extend the deadline for the preparation of the Plan for the prevention and management of hazardous waste in Andalusia 2011-2020, which initially met this month of July in four months. The decision aims to study and incorporate the large volume of inputs and suggestions that have been made to the first draft during its technical evaluation process.
The new document will replace the existing since 2004 Master Plan and shall establish measures to promote the reduction of hazardous waste; the use of secondary raw materials; development of clean energy in business technology, and the promotion of recycling and reuse. The plan will also include a diagnosis of the situation and an analysis of the types, quantities, sources and future developments of the waste generated and planned management methods and technologies.
The editor Committee is chaired by the head of the Ministry of environment and integrated by representatives of the ministries of Interior and justice; Treasury and public administration; Economics, innovation and science; Agriculture and fisheries; Health, and public works and housing.
