The Parc Científic de Barcelona will have a chemical library with more than 50,000 substances
July 24, 2009
The Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB) will host the chemical library ChemBioBank with a capacity for 50,000 compounds sorted and classified for academic use. The purpose of the lab will be to generate a database of 'quimicobiológica' registered, at the disposal of the scientific community and which will be accessible at a distance. The ChemBioBank will feature a frigorific camera which will host chemical substances and devices for analytical monitoring of the compounds in the library.
The project forms part of the platform Drug Discovery that investigates the early stages of the discovery of new drugs: identification and validation of therapeutic targets, molecular design and optimization of compounds.
