The Ecolec Foundation, authorized by the Junta de Extremadura as an integrated system of management of WEEE

Extremadura has joined the list of Spanish autonomies which have already authorized the
Ecolec Foundation as integrated management (GIS) system of waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that are generated within a specific regional territory.
The accession was held the last day of October 8, through resolution signed by Mary a. Perez Fernandez, Director-General of evaluation and environmental quality of the Junta de Extremadura.
I articles 4 and 7 of Royal Decree 208/2005, of 25th February imposed on producers of electrical and electronic equipment to take the necessary measures so that waste from EEE placed by them on the market are collected selectively and have a proper environmental management. This obligation covers both to the WEEE from private households such as those coming from the professional circuit, and her they can carry out well on an individual basis, either in a collective way through non-profit foundations.
Following this authorization, the Ecolec Foundation, as well as other authorized systems, will assume all costs of collection and management of WEEE generated in the Junta de Extremadura, as well as those coming from the treatmentrecovery and/or disposal of waste.
Thus, Extremadura joins the authorizations granted to the Ecolec Foundation by the communities of Aragon, Castile - La Mancha, Spain, Galicia, Catalonia, Canary Islands, Navarre, Basque country, Madrid and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
