APPA, IDAE, ANFAC and ANIACAM will develop a study on the quality of biodiesel sold in Spain

The Association of producers of renewable energies (
APPA), the Institute for diversification and energy saving (
IDAE), entity public enterprise of the Ministry of industry, tourism and trade, the Spanish Association of manufacturers of cars and trucks (
ANFAC) and the National Association of importers of carsTrucks, buses and motorcycles (
ANIACAM) have recently signed a collaboration agreement to develop a study of quality of biodiesel to be marketed in our country in order to verify the improvement of the quality of biodiesel in recent years.
The study of quality will take place over a period of one year and on a representative sample of filling stations selling biodiesel in their three most common presentations: B10, B20 and B100. In each of the gas stations are sampled fortnightly and perform quarterly reports with the results. Royal Decree 61/2006 of 31 January is what determines the specifications of gasoline, diesel, oils, and liquefied petroleum gas and also regulates the use of certain biofuels. For its part, the renewable energy 2005-2010, Plan includes as one of the measures to develop "certification and surveillance of the quality of biofuels standards".
