Merck will distribute the Tate & Lyle sucralose in the pharmaceutical market

Tate & Lyle is the original creator of sucralose, a sweetener that is used as a substitute for sugar in the pharmaceutical industry, among others. This substance is a high intensity sweetener made from conventional sugar. Although its flavor is similar to the of sucrose, get to be up to 600 times sweeter than this. It also has the advantage that the body does not recognize as sugar or as a carbohydrate, so in addition to not providing calories, can consume safely diabetics, children, pregnant women, or older people it.
Merck will market, through its Merck Chemicals Division, the sweetener available in the form of powder and granules, under its own brand as of April 1.
