Electrabel exceeds their first 100 hours of operation at its new plant in Teruel

Electrabel signed has recently surpassed the 100 hours of continuous operation and at full load of the plant's combined cycle which is located in the municipality of Castelnou, in the province of Teruel. This is a milestone for the company, since this is the first unit of generation of electricity from the company in Spain.
After a successful test period started last April 10 with the synchronization of the plant to electrical network of Spain, the plant's combined cycle in Castelnou received launched definitive start certificate awarded by the prefectures in Teruel. During the period of testing the two gas turbines, steam turbine as well as all systems of the plant, already demonstrated its absolute reliability.
The plant has a rated power of 800 MW and represents 11.7% of the total capacity installed in Aragon. As fuel use exclusively natural gas and can achieve an annual consumption of up to 1 bcm (billion m3), approximately 3% of the total consumption of gas in Spain per year. Also, the company will sell Castelnou plant energy production to the operator of the electricity market (Omelokovshchina) from the center of management of the energy that Electrabel is in Madrid.
The firm develops other combined cycle projects in Spain, in particular, in Morata de Tajuña (Madrid) with a 1,200 MW plant, and another joint project with the Sniace in Torrelavega (Cantabria) company for the construction of a 800 MW plant.
